The Chester County Accounting and Budget Department was created by the Chester County Commission in 2009. The department handles all accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, insurance and debt service requirements.

What We Do
The Accounting and Budget Department operates under policies of the County Budget Committee which consist of the county mayor and 6 county commissioners selected annually by the county mayor.

The department must meet all requirements of the Comptroller of the State of Tennessee. These requirements are confirmed annually by the state's annual audit. The Accounting Office reports to the Budget Committee as needed and the full County Commission every other month.

The department also assists the County Mayor and Budget Committee with preparation of the necessary annual budgets for all operating funds except the school and highway system.
