Marty Phillips has significant experience in general civil litigation and appellate practice.

He was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Tennessee in 1991. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Tennessee (Western District, Middle District, and Eastern District), the Sixth United States Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Phillips is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Association and a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, a member of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He is Past President of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association and Past Chairman of the Medico-Legal Committee of the Tennessee Bar Association. He serves as a member of the Advisory Board of West Tennessee Business College and President of the Birth Choice, Inc. Board of Directors.

Mr. Phillips enjoys an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell.  He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®.  He has also been recognized in Law & Politics magazine’s list of “Super Lawyers” in Tennessee.  He has authored articles that deal with civil litigation.  Mr. Phillips is a frequent speaker at seminars pertaining to civil trial practice, pretrial practice, and appellate practice.

He has been associated with Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell since receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1991 from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
